Today starts a new chapter in our life, and it seems fitting.

Luke made over 40 hours at work both weeks this pay period. He gets paid book-time, which is kind of like commission. His base pay is for 34 hours, and that's what our meager budget is based on. Anything beyond that is icing. I'm hoping his booking over 35-40 hours will become more and more common as he becomes more accustomed to BMWs. Maybe we won't be broke all of the time anymore. We do suck with money, so probably not. :) This week, though, that extra money is going to pay for a big change in our lives.

This afternoon, Luke's getting the Big V. This means that we are officially done with kids. Jude's already walking and well on his way to talking. With any luck he'll be out of diapers in a year or two. No more of our own babies in this house, unless the boys grace us with grandchildren at some point in the distant future. Good thing my sister-in-law is about to have a baby so I can get my fix. But you know what? I am not the least bit sorry.

Today is Day 4 of my 30-day shred. While I know 30 days is not going to change my life, I'm hoping it will give me a good kickstart. I want to build enough endurance so that by spring I can bike a few miles, start running, maybe join a few cardio classes without looking like a total loser. I hope to be starting a more active and healthy chapter in my life.

Life is definitely not static. Things are always in flux. Lately, things have been fluxing in our favor. Hopefully it will continue to do so for a little while.
